With no pressure for a result and no result expected, I rode around the course before the start of the race and I was sure that it was a circuit I wouldn’t enjoy due to a technical section around the back half of the circuit.
The first couple of laps brought two crashes possibly because of the rain which began to fall soon after the start of the race.
This caused the race to split and unfortunately I found myself gapped from the front group.
As the race went along I began to enjoy the circuit and I started to bring the gap down between myself and the front group. Bringing the gap down from at least 40 seconds to 13 seconds with 2 laps to go.
I finished happily in 13th, a unexpected result and surprisingly a enjoyable race.
